Course Description

 

This course is designed to prepare, non- native English students, improve their English Language proficiency and communication skills. Students are given opportunities to learn from well qualified and experienced teachers in a multicultural environment. Besides, improving receptive and productive skills in English, students will be able to get a good understanding of grammar and vocabulary. The content of the course ensures that students are equipped with necessary communicative skills of everyday situation like at shopping, travel, accommodation arrangements to formal presentation, discussions and debates at higher levels. This program also introduces students to the significance of critical thinking and independent learning, through the use of modern technology. General English courses ranging between Elementary and Upper-intermediate levels are designed and delivered at Hawk Institute, English Language Centre through a range of activities. Students will get to improve writing, reading, listening, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar knowledge for their smooth transition in other certificate and diploma courses at the institute.

Course Structure:

The course will be delivered in face-to-face mode on campus. There are four levels of English available within the full program with Elementary and Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate levels for 15 weeks of  duration for each level including holidays break. (12 weeks study period and 3 weeks holidays break).

  4. Upper-Intermediate

The course timetable has scheduled classes for 20 hours per week

 

Entry Requirements:

Students must be above 18 years of age while filling up the application form.

There are no prerequisites for this course, students are assessed and placed in their appropriate class before commencement.

 

There is no minimum academic requirement.
